239317-B21
The Compaq NVIDIA Vanta16 16-MB AGP Graphics Controller replaces the Vanta LT 8-MB model to deliver higher 2-D performance at a lower cost for mainstream business users.
The Vanta16 16-MB is available as both an option kit and pre-installation option for Compaq Deskpro EX Series computers.

Overview
The Compaq NVIDIA Vanta16 16-MB AGP Graphics Controller utilizes the same 2-D/3-D core as the NVIDIA TNT2™ M64 Pro, while leveraging NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 architecture. The controller features a 16-MB frame buffer and delivers both value and visual quality for mainstream computer-based applications.

Note: The internal clock and graphics engine speeds of the NVIDIA Vanta16 16-MB are slower than the M64 and TNT2 Pro.

Performance
The NVIDIA Vanta16 processor uses the same drivers as the NVIDIA TNT2 M64 Pro and NVIDIA TNT2 Pro and is built with the same 0.22 micron process. The 16-MB frame buffer, 32-bit color pipeline, and 32-bit Z/Stencil buffer deliver solid quality and performance. The internal TwiN Texel architecture provides one of the fastest 128-bit 3-D processors on the market today, delivering 2 pixels-per-clock cycling and single-pass multi-texturing.
Functionality and Uses
The NVIDIA Vanta16 16-MB AGP Graphics Controller delivers good all-round performance in all areas of computer graphics including 2-D and Microsoft DirectX 3-D at a very attractive price. The Vanta16 16-MB utilizes an internal 128-bit pipeline to support the computational throughput necessary for current and future graphics-intensive e-business and e-commerce applications.
Key Benefits
  • 16-MB frame buffer for clearer on-screen images
  • 32-bit color for higher image quality
  • 32-bit Z/Stencil buffer that identifies and eliminates hidden portions of scenes and facilitates faster loading
  • AGP 4X bus leverages new methods of transferring information more efficiently
  • Resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 for sharper images
  • Universal driver compatibility for easier upgrades to other NVIDIA products
  • Microsoft DirectX and OpenGL support to guarantee compatibility with industry standard applications
  • 30-fps full screen DVD playback turns computers into DVD players
Kit Contents
